City Smart Pup: Private Puppy Tutoring

I do the hard part while you work (or take a load off)

City Smart Pup is a private tutoring system (also known as day training) that gives you a break, saves your sanity, and gets speedy results. I’ve trained hundreds of puppies to be calm, confident city dogs, and I can train yours too!

How it works:

  • 3 days a week, I come to your home and train your puppy for you

  • 1 day a week, we’ll have a private coaching session so I can teach you what your puppy’s mastered

What your puppy learns:

  • Potty training

  • Foundational obedience: sit, down, stay, leash skills, recall

  • Crate comfort and enrichment (without eating your shoes)

  • Socialization done right (not just meeting strangers in pet stores)

  • How to cope with the chaos of city life

From good start to great finish—the 6-Week Plan gives your pup the time and real-world experiences to truly master new skills.

Includes: 

  • 60-minute virtual consult (when booked separately, cost is deducted from package total)

  • 18 private tutoring (day training) sessions - 3 per week

  • 6 coaching sessions - 1 per week

  • 2 follow-ups - 1 hour each

Investment: $4,005+HST

3-Week Plan 

The 3-Week Plan jumpstarts your pup’s training with focused guidance and a solid foundation of skills you can build on.

Includes: 

  • 60-minute virtual consult (when booked separately, cost is deducted from package total)

  • 9 private tutoring (day training) sessions - 3 per week

  • 3 coaching sessions - 1 per week

  • 2 follow-ups - 1 hour each

  • Day training (or private puppy tutoring, as I call it) means I do the hands-on work of training your puppy for you, right in your home. I visit three times a week to teach essential skills like potty training, loose leash walking, crate comfort, and basic manners. Then we meet once a week for a private coaching session so I can teach you how to keep these skills going.

  • For many busy puppy parents, yes! DIY training can work if you have the time, skill, and consistency, but most new owners struggle to fit that in. And training a puppy is hard, especially if it’s your first! With day training, your puppy gets professional, consistent practice from the start, so they learn faster and with fewer mistakes to undo later on.

  • Yes, but I make it simple! Our weekly coaching sessions give you clear instructions and easy ways to practice so you continue to see results without feeling overwhelmed.

  • The earlier, the better! I work with puppies as young as 8 weeks old. Early training builds good habits from day one, prevents common behaviour problems, and helps get them properly socialized to city life.

  • Yes, I only use positive, force-free training methods. This is especially important for puppies, who are extra sensitive to fear, force, or punishment. Research has shown that positive reinforcement creates faster learning, a stronger bond, and lasting behaviour.

  • Puppies who grow up in a city need to be socialized to lots of different sights, sounds, smells, and surfaces from an early age. City Smart Pup covers safe, neutral exposure to the everyday experiences of city life so they learn to navigate your neighbourhood with confidence.
